This small mod will add to the game such a necessary item as a compass, but not a simple one. With this compass you can find out where your last death occurred.
Mod Death Compass for Minecraft 1.13.2/1.12.2
The compass will save data about your last location, after which you can return to the point of death and collect all your items and resources.
